When it comes to Wills and Probate we offer a modern, efficient and caring service.
When someone dies it is immensely helpful if they have left a will. We can draft your Will. We can advise you with expert help and guidance so that your Will explains how to distribute your assets after your death. Without a will the assets pass to a pre-ordained list of relatives set by the intestacy rules.
It is never easy when a loved one dies, however their wishes and legal affairs can be carried out if a Will is left. Our aim is to give you a personal and sympathetic service. We know this can be a hard time and we want to make the process of probate as simple and pain free as possible.
When someone dies it is necessary to deal with their money, property and possessions (known as “the estate”) by collecting all the assets in the estate, paying any debts and distributing what is left to those persons entitled to it.
Probate is a document issued by the court which gives the court authority to administer a deceased person’s estate. It is normally issued to the executors named in the Will, but if there is no Will it will be issued to a close relative.
This court document is usually required by the asset holders, such as the banks, as proof to show the correct persons have authority to administer a deceased person’s estate. They will not release the assets to the executors until they have seen the grant of Probate.
We can act for the Executors of the Will, or Administrators. If there is no Will we can apply to the court for Probate.
