Commissioner Bailey Sworn In, Ushering New Chapter for Justice in TCI

Attending Friday morning’s Swearing-In Ceremony for Commissioner Fitz A. Bailey OD, JP, On April 25 2025 in my capacity as President of the Bar Association of attorneys, was a particularly significant occasion for upholding the rule of law in the Turks and Caicos Islands. A strong and ethical police force, working in respectful collaboration with the legal fraternity, is absolutely vital for a just and equitable society.

The ceremony underscored the importance of this relationship. As we look ahead, I share the community’s hope for a strengthened and unified Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force that will effectively tackle crime and ensure the safety and security of all our residents. The Bar Association remains committed to fostering good and respectable relations with the police force, recognizing that our collaborative efforts are essential for the proper administration of justice.

I am also particularly hopeful to see continued advancements for Turks and Caicos Islanders within the force, and I especially look forward to witnessing the growing leadership and contributions of women in upholding law and order.

Let’s all rally together to support Commissioner Bailey and Deputy Commissioner Adams as they lead the RTCI Police Force into a new era.  A safer and more secure TCI, built on a foundation of the rule of law, requires our collective commitment and unified efforts. Wishing Commissioner Bailey all the best in his new role. His win, is ours!
