The Bar Council of Turks and Caicos Islands Bar Association (TCIBA) was honoured to pay a courtesy call on Her Ladyship Chief Justice Mabel Agyemang, on April 4, 2025.
The meeting took place in Providenciales and was attended by all elected members of the Bar Council.
The courtesy call which served as a significant moment of engagement between the Judiciary and the Bar, centered on strengthening collaboration and advancing shared goals for the continued development of the legal profession in Turks and Caicos Islands.
A range of forward-looking matters of mutual interest were discussed, focusing on ways to enhance legal practice, strengthen institutional frameworks, and expand opportunities for legal education and professional development. The meeting reflected a shared commitment to progress, inclusion, and excellence within the legal system.
Her Ladyship the Chief Justice expressed her support for continued dialogue and partnership with the Bar.
President of the Bar Association, Mark A Fulford, remarked, “We are grateful for the open and productive exchange with Madam Chief Justice Agyemang. Her leadership and vision continue to inspire confidence in the legal system and its potential for inclusive, forward-thinking reform.”
The Bar Council will continue deliberations on these matters at its next scheduled meeting on April 11, 2025 and will work closely with the Judiciary and stakeholders to bring the shared initiatives to fruition.
