Attorney Mark Fulford meets Canada Foreign Affairs Minister Rob Nicholson‏

Wednesday marked the opening of the Turks and Caicos Islands friendship mission meetings beginning with a Courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Minister The Hon. Rob Nicolson MP. F Chambers Managing Partner Mark A Fulford met with Minister Nicolson during this time.

Following which a luncheon was hosted in honor of the Turks and Caicos delegation in the Parliamentary Dinning room chaired by Parliamentary Secretary Anderson and attended by various MP’s including The Hon.Earl Dreeshen MP; The Hon. Bev Shipley MP; The Hon. Peter Goldring MP and The Hon. Dean Allison, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Minister Gardiner said at the opening luncheon the following “We are pleased to begin this dialogue with Canada, which has been a longtime friend to The TCI. ‎The bilateral working group established at the request of PM Harper and Premier Ewing provides an excellent platform from which we can examine more closely those things which strengthen our relationship and the areas of cooperation which can benefit both sides. ”

The TCI delegation which is Chaired by Border Control Minister, Don-Hue Gardiner includes attorney Mark Fulford and economist, Dr. Gilbert Morris, Ronlee James and the country’s Chief Statistician, Shirlen Forbes.

The Canadian delegation extended the highest level of courtesies to the Turks and Caicos group which demonstrated both Canada’s grace and a level of seriousness concerning the regard the two countries have for each other.
